is changing. yes, the tea party movement was an issue yes, the shutdown was an issue, yes, obama care was an issue but part of this is virginia's changing demographics. 39% of the lerelectorates call themselves democrats. this is a big switch. the democratic population, especially in northern virginia, is growing. and among democrats, look at that. terry mcauliffe held his base. 96% of people who say they're democrats voted for the democratic nominee. a smaller slice said they were republicans but ken cuccinelli did hold his base as well by 91%. republicans stayed home and voted for their candidate. let's look at this closer. virginia is becoming a swing state. a purple state, some even leaning blue. to win there you have to win the middle of the electorate. 44% describe themselves as moderates. among moderates, todayy mcauliffe getting nearly 6 in 10 of those votes. if that lead in the early exit poll shows up, this will be a key look. winning in the middle of the electorate. let's look at the issues. i'll slide this over. we know this was a big issue. who was more to blame for the 1

right now. president obama declared today one of remembrance with flags at the white house and capital flying at half-staff. the ceremonies began this morning at arlington national cemetery. the eternal flame burns at the 35th president's flame. a somber wreath laying ceremony at the state house and this is incredible. for the first time in 50 years, the stiff dallas recognizing the event that has scarred it so deeply. thousands gallon gathering in the rain to mark the exact moment when president kennedy was there. ed lavendera was there and he is there tonight. you've been covering these events all day. what amaze me is that concept that that is such, you're at such an historic place. and for 50 years, dallas didn't actually commemorate this event. today obviously was very different. >> it was very different. unlike anything the city has seen in 50 years, mostly because the city has been a place where it was the end of the john f. kennedy story. this was where he was gruesomely assassinated. the sixth floor window there that you see behind me, people have come here to talk essentially

grim news on obama care tonight. fewer than 50,000 people have successfully enrolled in the health insurance plan. this is according to the "wall street journal" a spokeswoman declined to confirm those numbers. but a spokesperson says the final data is being prepared. at least 345,000 people have completed applications. but the numbers are a bit of a scary indicator since the administration's target by the end of november was 800,000 people fully formally enrolled. >>> well, today the u.n. making an agreement with iran. the problem managed access is real unfettered full, clear access. and in the wake of the nuclear program over the weekend some are questioning iran's agenda including senator lindsey graham. he tells candy crowley he doesn't trust the nation's leaders on this. >> we believe that sanctions and military force is the only thing that's going to bring the iranians to the table. >> on wednesday, secretary of state john kerry will brief the senate banking committee. that testimony will set the baseline for possible additional sanctions against iran. >> blindfolded and murd
